When I was young, I used to lie on my bed, scratching my pillow, with different strokes, to make different sounds. I always wanted to make a symphony with sounds from everyday things. Obviously, we have a winner of Everyday-Things Music Competition!!

Music from everyday things

talian artist Diego Stocco makes sound from everyday things. After his previous work "Music From Sand" (as below), he created another work which is Green, Music From Tree:

"In the garden of my house there's a tree with lots of randomly grown twigs. It looks odd and nice at the same time. One day I asked myself if I could create a piece of music with it.

To tune the tree I picked a fundamental note and tuned the twigs by trimming them with a pencil sharpener. "

Cellphone Music- Concept Model by au KDDI

"Cell phone can be musical instrument" is not that new to us. We've been seeing a lot of cell phone application for people to generate sound. However, have you ever seen any cell phone that can be play as harmonica, trumpet, or even drum stick to play drum?

One of my favorite cell phone design/ manufacturing company, au KDDI, is showing their concept models, cooperate with YAMAHA. Needless to say, YAMAHA is always innovative on new musical interface. These concept cell phone instrument are really awesome, those interface with shape changing and marvelous modules are really attractive, definitely wanna try them out!

Global Music Report--Part 1

Several years ago I was playing DDR(Dance Dance Revolution), and I found a song very very interested. After these years, my brother found that song, from a Germany dance music band, singing about the ancient Mongolian emperor Genghis Khan.

The Dancing of the music video is so hilarious! Especially the one in the middle who keeps turning around!!

Toshio Iwai, a famous "New Instrument of Music Expression" creator, has a new handheld electronic instrument for Yamaha called the "Tenori-On".
